About Us
Darin and Nicole Buerkle have been ranching in Baker since 1999, with Buerkle roots tracing back to the early 1900’s in the Baker/Plevna area. Darin and Nicole enjoy working as a family with their four children, Dacy, Nicholas, Weston, and Blaine. They began to pursue their dream of building 316 Simmental in 2020 with the purchase of a few red Simmental bred heifers from Dakota Xpress SimGenetics. They sold their first set of bulls in 2022 at the Open 8 Genetics Sale. They have since expanded their herd and continue working in partnership with their good friends at Open 8 Genetics.
Our journey with Simmental cattle began in 2017 through our involvement with Open 8 Genetics. In 2020, we had the opportunity to launch our own Simmental program while continuing our partnership with Open 8. This journey started with the purchase of several bred females from Double T Simmentals and Dakota Express, marking the beginning of 316 Simmentals. Since then, we have been fortunate to expand our operation with exceptional females from Mandan Lake Simmental, Kunkel Simmental, and Open 8 Genetics.
